2-vehicle collision on US-722 at Westport Pkwy kills 17-year-old
WESTLAKE, TX – A 17-year-old Keller teen died on Saturday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash along the highway in north-central Tarrant County.
According to DFW Scanner, the accident occurred around 1:27 p.m. near the intersection of US-722 and Westport Parkway on the southwestern outskirts of Westlake.
Police say that a southbound vehicle struck another vehicle after running a red light at the intersection.
The crash killed the driver of the first vehicle. Authorities have not released his name to the public.
It’s unclear how many people were riding in the second vehicle at the time of the accident, but police say they sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
Officials say that speed may have been a factor in the collision.
