2-vehicle rollover collision on S Broadway in Tyler kills 1, injures 1
TYLER, TX – A 36-year-old Jacksonville man died on Friday night after colliding with another vehicle along a busy roadway in Tyler, reports KLTV 7.
The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. on the southbound side of South Broadway Avenue between Market Square Boulevard and East Toll 49, which is just southeast of Faulkner Park Trails.
The investigation thus far indicates that a southbound Toyota pickup truck hit another vehicle while attempting to pass traffic on the shoulder of South Broadway Avenue. The collision caused the black pickup truck to overturn, killing the driver at the scene. Authorities identified him as Austin Durrett.
Medics transported the other driver to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
