3-vehicle crash on I-10 WB near Fair Oaks Pkwy kills 2
BOERNE, TX – Two people died, and one person was arrested following a three-vehicle crash along the interstate in Boerne last Tuesday, reports KSAT 12.
The accident happened just before 3 p.m. on the westbound side of I-10 near Fair Oaks Parkway. This is about 30 miles northwest of San Antonio.
Police say that the driver of a gray Hyundai failed to decelerate for slowed traffic and rear-ended a white Chevy and a red Ford pick up truck.
Officials declared one person from the Chevy, identified as 46-year-old Rufino Pedraza Rebollar, deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chevy, identified as 38-year-old Fabian Pedraza Rebollar, died after transport to an area hospital.
The driver of the pickup truck sustained non-critical injuries; it’s unclear if they required hospitalization.
Medics transported the woman that caused the crash, 53-year-old Marilyn Denise Thompson, to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities discovered open containers of alcohol in Thompson’s Hyundai, and they’ve charged Thompson with assault with a deadly weapon and intoxication manslaughter.
A full investigation is underway.
