4-vehicle crash on WNW Loop 323 in Tyler kills 1, hurts 1
TYLER, TX – A 75-year-old man died on Wednesday afternoon in Tyler after an accident involving four vehicles at a busy intersection on the northside of town, reports CBS 19.
The incident happened around 3 p.m. on the eastbound side of West Northwest Loop 323 at Pointe North Drive, which is just southwest of Northside Park and just north of Caldwell Zoo.
The investigation thus far indicates that an eastbound Ford F-150 veered into the left turn lane of West Northwest Loop 323 and collided with another vehicle. The second vehicle then crashed into the car in front of it, and the third vehicle crashed into a fourth at the front of the line.
The collision killed on person, and another person went to the hospital with non-critical injuries. Authorities identified the victim as Jimmy Hayes.
A full investigation is underway.
