Arlington train crash near W Division and Fielder injures pedestrian

ARLINGTON, TX – A 31-year-old man was hurt Saturday when a train struck him along the tracks near the University of Texas at Arlington.

According to NBC DFW 5, the incident happened around 3 p.m. on the northwest side of campus near West Division Street, or TX-180, and South Fielder Road.

Medics transported the man to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Police aren’t sure why the man was walking on the railroad tracks at the time of the collision.

The accident caused the train to stop, which resulted in delays for other trains for a few hours while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene. All trains started running again around 6 p.m.

A full investigation is underway. Our team of writers will update the blog if we learn more about the circumstances of the crash.
