Arrest Made in Death of Edward Beltran and Ethan Beltran
Authorities recently announced that Michael Halla has been charged with two counts of manslaughter following a 2021 crash that killed 36-year-old Edward Beltran and his 5-year-old son, Ethan Beltran, of Ferris, Texas. The Beltrans were killed on November 15, 2021, while crossing Highway 664 near their home. The Ellis County Press reports that Halla was identified as the driver on the night of the crash, but it took authorities 14 months to charge him after what has been described as a thorough and comprehensive investigation revealed Halla was driving recklessly when he struck the Beltrans.
