Box truck rear-ends 18-wheeler in Garland, injuring 1
GARLAND, TX – A box truck driver went to the hospital on Tuesday evening after his vehicle struck the rear of a semi-truck on the turnpike in Garland, reports DFW Scanner.
The incident happened sometime before 5:59 p.m. on the eastbound side of the President George Bush Turnpike near Firewheel Parkway, which is just northwest of the Rowlett Creek – Dallas County Nature Preserve.
It’s not yet clear what caused the box truck to rear-end the 18-wheeler. Authorities say the crash resulted in a hazmat spill from the semi-truck.
The box truck driver sustained non-critical injuries. The driver of the semi has not reported injuries thus far.
