Crash on I-35 near Woodall Rogers kills 4, ending Irving police chase

IRVING, TX – A police chase involving a stolen vehicle started in Irving and ended in a fatal collision along the interstate near downtown Dallas, reports the Irving Police Department.

The pursuit began around 2 a.m. Thursday on North Belt Line Road in Irving and continued until the vehicle crashed on I-35 near the Woodall Rogers Freeway. This is just northeast of the Dallas World Aquarium.

At this time, police have released very few details about how the accident happened, but they say that all four occupants in the vehicle died as a result of injuries sustained in the wreck. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims.

Motorists likely experienced delays early Tuesday morning along I-35 near downtown while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
