Driver killed in fiery solo crash on SB DNT service road in Plano
PLANO, TX – One person died early Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash along the service road for the Dallas North Tollway in Plano, reports the Plano Police Department.

single vehicle was S/B on the DNT service road, left the roadway, and crashed into an electrical box. The vehicle caught fire, the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The incident happened at 2:23 a.m. on the southbound service road, not far from Masergy and just southeast of the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano.
The cause of the incident is still unclear. Police say that the driver lost control of the vehicle, veered off of the service road, and hit an electrical box. The collision caused the vehicle to ignite, and the driver died in the wreckage.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim to the public.
