Edward Rodriguez killed, 2 others hurt in fracking accident

REEVES CO., TX – A 45-year-old man died, and two other men were hurt Monday in a fracking accident in southeastern Reeves County, reports YourBasin.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. just southeast of Pecos at the well site for Permian Resources-Guthrie State D 132H, which is near US-285 and County Road 114.

Police say the victims were working for Propetro Services at the fracking site when a pressurized device burst, killing one of the workers, since identified as Edward Rodriguez.

Medics airlifted another worker, 35-year-old Ricardo Zamora, to an Odessa hospital with serious injuries. Zamora ultimately lost an arm as a result of the accident.

Another worker, 36-year-old Johnny Sanchez, went to an area hospital with non-critical injuries. Sanchez was working as the site supervisor when the accident happened.

Propetro Services discontinued all work at the site while hazmat and emergency crews responded.

A full investigation is underway.
