Fort Worth pickup vs. semi-truck crash on I-35W SB kills 1
FORT WORTH, TX – A 59-year-old man died early Tuesday morning after his vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler along the interstate in Fort Worth, reports DFW Scanner.
The incident happened around 2:47 a.m. on the southbound side of I-35W near East Ripy Street, which is just southwest of Echo Lake.
The investigation indicates that a southbound pickup-truck neglected to decelerate in time and collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer on the interstate. Police say the driver of the semi-truck, along with other drivers, had stopped at the site of an earlier accident when the driver of the pickup truck rear-ended him.
The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene of the accident. Officials have not yet released his identity.
A full investigation is underway.
