James Edward Johnson Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 36 near Denton Valley in Callahan County

Callahan County, TX. (August 23, 2021)- 78-year-old James Edward Johnson was killed in a two-vehicle crash on August 17, 2021 in Callahan County, Texas. The accident occurred shorty before 8:00 p.m. on Highway 36 near Denton Valley, Texas. Police reported that the driver of an eastbound 2011 Ford pickup truck lost traction, went into a spin and was struck by a westbound 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Johnson. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford was transported to Hendrick Medical Center where they were treated and released. The crash remains under investigation.
