Maria De La Luz Roman, 90, killed in crash on Vista del Sol
EL PASO, TX – An elderly woman sustained fatal injuries Sunday evening in a two-vehicle collision along a major roadway in east El Paso, reports KTSM 9.
The incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. at the intersection of Vista del Sol Drive and Lomaland Drive, which is just west of Eastside Women’s Healthcare Center.
Police say that a westbound black SUV struck an eastbound red SUV when the driver of the former vehicle turned left on Lomaland without yielding.
Medics transported the both drivers to an area hospital with minor injuries.
A passenger in the red SUV, identified as 90-year-old Maria De La Luz Roman, also went to the hospital. She succumbed to her injuries sometime after transport.
A full investigation is underway.
