Multi-car collision at MLK Jr. Fwy and Berry St. kills 1, hurts 2

FORT WORTH, TX – One man died, and two other people were hospitalized in a three-car crash on the freeway in central Fort Worth on Thursday night, reports 5 NBC DFW.

The incident happened just after 11 p.m. on the northbound side of Martin Luther King Jr. Freeway at East Berry Street, which is just northwest of the WMC Texas Prince Hall Library Museum.

The investigation indicates that the victim had stopped on the freeway and exited his vehicle to help someone with a disabled vehicle. A third vehicle struck the disabled vehicle and the man who had stopped to render aid.

The man died after transport to a local hospital.

Medics transported two more people to the hospital in connection to the accident. They are expected to recover.

A full investigation is underway.
