Police investigate fiery 18-wheeler crash on the PGBT in Irving

IRVING, TX – Emergency crews responded to the scene of a fiery semi crash along the PGBT in Irving on Wednesday morning, reports NBC DFW 5.

The incident occurred around 6 a.m. on the southbound side of the the PGBT, or TX-161, between MacArthur Boulevard and Gateway Drive. This is in the Broadmoor Hills area.

Thus far, police have shared that an 18-wheeler crashed and caught fire. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and it’s unclear if other vehicles were involved. Additionally, there’s no word yet on injuries.

Officials closed the southbound lanes of TX-161 while authorities gathered evidence and fire crews worked to extinguish the flames. During this time, drivers experienced significant delays along the PGBT.
