Police share updates regarding Monday’s fatal crash in Arlington

ARLINGTON, TX – Authorities now say that an intoxicated driver caused a fatal head-on collision along West Division Street in Arlington on Monday morning.

According to DFW Scanner, the incident happened at 9:08 a.m. near the intersection with Forest Edge Drive, which is just northeast of Shady Valley Country Club.

The investigation indicates that a westbound pickup truck driven by 44-year-old Guerrero Madrid Salgado veered into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a second pickup. The force of the collision threw debris from one of the trucks into a third vehicle.

The driver of the second pickup truck died at the scene of the crash. Authorities have not yet released his identity.

The driver in the third vehicle did not sustain injuries in the accident.

Madrid Salgado went to the hospital with non-critical injuries. Upon release, he faces charges of intoxication manslaughter and possession of a controlled substance.
