Semi-truck strikes, kills man after earlier crash on Hwy 114 near Haslet
DENTON COUNTY, TX – A 35-year-old man died Thursday morning near Haslet after being struck by a semi-truck while running across the highway.
According to DFW Scanner, the incident happened just after 5:40 a.m. on the westbound side of Highway 114 near the Denton and Wise county lines.
Before running across the highway, the man had been involved in an accident in which he had crashed into the back of a different semi-truck with his sedan.
It is unclear why the driver of the sedan chose to run into the westbound lanes of traffic. He died from injuries sustained when the 18-wheeler hit him. Authorities have not yet named the victim publicly.
Neither truck driver was hurt.
A full investigation is underway.
