Solo crash on Northwest Hwy near Las Colinas Blvd in Irving kills 1
IRVING, TX – A driver died Sunday afternoon after losing control of their vehicle and crashing into a power pole along the highway in Irving, reports DFW Scanner.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on the westbound side of Northwest Highway near Las Colinas Boulevard, which is just southwest of The Pavilion Lakes of Las Colinas.
The investigation thus far indicates that for unknown reasons, a driver left the roadway and struck both a guardrail and a power pole, causing a fire and a power outage to customers in Las Colinas.
The driver became entrapped in their vehicle and died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity to the public.
The investigation is ongoing.
