Stalled car struck by off-duty officer on I-30 near 2nd, killing pregnant woman
DALLAS, TX – A pregnant woman died Saturday after a vehicle driven by an off-duty police officer struck her vehicle along the interstate in Dallas.
According to DFW Scanner, the collision occurred at 2:32 a.m. on I-30 near South Second Avenue, which is near Fair Park and the Deep Ellum area.
Police say that the victim’s car was stalled on I-30 when the off-duty officer hit it, sending multiple people to the hospital.
A pregnant woman died after transport while her infant survived with critical injuries. Authorities have not yet released the woman’s identity to the public.
Two additional occupants from the stalled vehicle also sustained serious injuries.
The off-duty officer sustained non-critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
