SUV strikes, kills woman on PGBT near W Belt Line Rd in Carrollton
DALLAS, TX – A 19-year-old woman died, and three people sustained injuries early Sunday morning following a collision in the Carrollton area, reports CBS 19.
Crews responded to the accident around 1:15 a.m. on the President George Bush Turnpike near West Belt Line Road, which is just east of the McInnish Sports Complex.
Police say that a female driver, identified as Jasmine Lewis, had exited her vehicle after an initial solo crash on the southbound side of the PGBT, at which point an SUV struck both her and her vehicle.
The collision killed Lewis at the scene.
Additionally, medics transported three people to the hospital with non-critical injuries. These included a passenger from Lewis’ car, the driver of the SUV, and a passenger from the SUV.
A full investigation is underway.
