T-bone crash kills 1, injures 2 on FM 3053 in Kilgore

KILGORE, TX – A 68-year-old woman died, and three people went to the hospital last Saturday after a t-bone collision in south Gregg County, reports KLTV 7.

The incident happened early in the evening at the intersection of FM 3053 and West Goforth Road, which is just west of TX-135.

The investigation indicates that a southbound driver crashed into the passenger side of a westbound vehicle in the intersection. The westbound driver, identified as 47-year-old Marcus McKnight, neglected to yield right of way to the other driver.

A passenger in the westbound vehicle died at the scene of the crash. Authorities identified her as Doris Strong.

The driver of the southbound vehicle, identified as 64-year-old James McClain, went to Longview Regional Medical Center with non-critical injuries, as did his passenger.

Medics transported McKnight to CHRISTUS Mother Frances in Tyler. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time.

A full investigation is underway.
