Tonya Clardy, 53, struck, killed at Matlock and Turner Warnell

ARLINGTON, TX – A woman sustained fatal injuries Friday when a vehicle struck her at a busy intersection on the south side of Arlington, reports WFAA News 8.

Emergency teams reported to the intersection of Matlock Road and West Turner Warnell Road shortly before 6:30 a.m. This is just south of Bowman Branch Linear Park.

Police say that 53-year-old Tonya Clardy had been involved in a two-vehicle collision near the intersection. When she exited her 2021 BMW sedan, a northbound 2014 Nissan Sentra struck her in the roadway.

Clardy died after transport to an area hospital.

The driver of the Nissan did stop to render aid and to speak with authorities. No charges have been announced at this time.

A full investigation is underway.
