Two-vehicle accident on I-35 SB in Valley View kills 1, injures 2
VALLEY VIEW, TX – A 22-year-old woman died, and another woman was critically hurt Sunday when a car hit them on the interstate in southern Cooke County.
According to KXII 12, the incident happened before 4 a.m. on the southbound side of I-35 in Valley View, which is about 22 miles north of Denton.
Police say that two women were standing along their disabled car in the right lane of I-35 southbound when another vehicle hit them. The disabled vehicle had previously been involved in a single-vehicle accident.
One of the women, identified as Crystal Mendoza, died after transport to a local hospital.
Medics airlifted the other woman, identified as 23-year-old Isaac Rebollar-Gonzalez, to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle, identified as 21-year-old Maliki Howard, also sustained serious injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
