Vehicle strikes, kills pedestrian on North Central Expy near McCommas
DALLAS, TX – A female pedestrian died Monday when a vehicle struck her along the highway near Highland Park in Dallas, reports WFAA News 8.
The accident happened at night on the southbound side of US-75 near McCommas Boulevard, which is just southwest of Glencoe Park and southeast of Southern Methodist University.
Police say the victim was attempting to direct traffic away from the site where a motorist was attending to a flat tire. For unknown reasons, the driver of a southbound SUV lost control of their vehicle struck the woman after crashing.
Medics transported the pedestrian to an area hospital, where she died from injuries sustained in the wreck. Authorities identified her as 26-year-old Elizabeth Reyes.
