Woman dies after pedestrian crash at north Laredo intersection
WEBB COUNTY, TX – A 72-year-old woman died nearly a week after being struck by a vehicle Friday, September 13, in north Laredo, according to Star-Telegram.
The incident unfolded at McPherson Road and Del Mar Boulevard, prompting a response from emergency crews soon after.
Laredo police indicated that the victim was on foot and was crossing the road outside of a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a driver in a 2021 Mercedes Benz GLS.
The woman, who suffered critical injuries, was rushed to an area hospital but then later transported by airlift to another facility for more advanced care.
An investigation was in progress, but officials said driver negligence or recklessness do not appear to have factored into the crash.
