Wrong-way crash claims Riley Copeland, Angel Rivera-Montelongo
NACOGDOCHES CO., TX – Two people died last Tuesday in a three-vehicle crash along the highway in southeastern Nacogdoches County, reports The Daily Sentinel.
The accident happened around 6 p.m. on TX-21 near Melrose. This is about 11 miles east of the city of Nacogdoches.
Police say that an eastbound 2013 Dogde Ram 2500 entered the westbound side of TX-21 and sideswiped a westbound 2012 Dodge Ram before colliding head-on with an eastbound 2006 Ford F-350.
The wrong-way driver, identified as 19-year-old Riley Copeland, died at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Ford F-350, identified as 20-year-old Angel Rivera-Montelongo, also sustained fatal injuries.
The driver of the eastbound Dodge Ram was not hurt in the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
