3 injured, 1 killed in rollover crash on I-20 EB near Ranger
EASTLAND CO., TX – A 33-year-old man died, and three people sustained serious injuries when a pickup truck crashed along the interstate near Ranger last Saturday.
According to FOX West Texas, the incident happened along the eastbound side of I-20 near Ranger, which is northeast of Eastland and Olden.
The investigation thus far indicates that the driver of a pickup truck, identified as 52-year-old Fernando Jimenez Vidal, was speeding on a wet roadway when he lost control of his vehicle and drove down an embankment. The pickup truck overturned, ejecting two passengers.
One passenger, identified as 33-year-old Kenwil Silva, died at the scene of the accident.
Medics took two young passengers, a 19-year-old and a 16-year-old, to local hospitals with serious injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was also hospitalized with serious injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
