Driver of stolen vehicle killed in Mesquite-area crash at Ridgeview and Gross
MESQUITE, TX – An 18-year-old man died on Monday after a police chase ended in a solo crash just off the interstate in Mesquite, reports DFW Scanner.
The incident happened at 10:40 p.m. at the intersection of Ridgeview Street and Gross Road, which is just east of I-635 in the Pleasant Ridge Area.
Police say they attempted to stop the driver of a stolen Dodge Charger, who fled along I-635, exited at Gross Road, and collided with a light pole in the intersection.
The crash killed the driver at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his identity.
Medics transported a 17-year-old female passenger to the hospital, but the extent of her injuries is unclear at this time.
A full investigation is underway.
