Drunk driver collides with K-9 police vehicle on Jacksboro Hwy in Sansom Park
SANSOM PARK, TX – A drunk driver was arrested, and a police officer went to the hospital following a New Year’s Eve collision along the highway in Sansom Park.
According to NBC DFW 5, the incident occurred around 11:07 p.m. at the intersection of Jacksboro Highway and Skyline Drive, which is east of Marion Sansom Park in the North Beverly Hills area.
The investigation thus far indicates that a drunk driver, identified as Roger Saenz-Blandon, turned on a yellow light and collided with a K-9 police unit. The latter vehicle had a green light at the time of the accident.
Medics transported the police officer to the hospital with non-critical injuries. The dog did not have any serious injuries.
Authorities arrested Saenz-Blandon on DUI charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
