Multi-vehicle Dallas crash pushes SUV off of Loop 12, killing 1
DALLAS, TX – A 45-year-old man died Monday afternoon after an accident caused his vehicle to fall from the Loop 12 overpass in far-west Dallas, reports WFAA News 8.
The incident happened around 3:45 p.m. on Loop 12 just over the intersection of North Walton Walker Boulevard and Singleton Boulevard. This is south of the West Fork Trinity River and west of Jaycee Zaragoza Recreation Center.
Police are still reviewing the circumstances of the multi-vehicle crash that caused the victim’s Chevy Tahoe to fall from the overpass. They say it may have been a hit-and-run accident.
The accident ejected the victim, identified as Moises Sanchez, from his vehicle. Sanchez landed in the roadway below just before his SUV fell on top of him.
It’s not yet clear if anyone else was injured in the accident on Loop 12. Police say that at least one or two other vehicles were damaged in the roadway below the overpass when the SUV fell.
The investigation is ongoing.
