Police ids woman critically injured in Labor Day crash on I-30 near Akard
DALLAS, TX – Authorities have shared additional details regarding a series of accidents, one of them a hit-and-run, that seriously injured a 22-year-old Dallas woman.
According to Fox 4 KDFW, the woman was struck not just by one but by two vehicles after she exited her own vehicle on I-30 near Akard Street around 5:30 a.m. on Labor Day.
Police have identified the victim as Promise McCree of Grand Prairie. As previously reported, McCree struck a guardrail along the interstate, at which point she got out of her car. She was then struck by two passing vehicles. The second vehicle, a black SUV, left the scene of the crash. The driver of the first vehicle remained at the scene to render aid.
McCree sustained serious injuries for which she has had multiple surgeries.
Authorities are still looking for the black SUV that struck McCree, and they encourage anyone with information to contact the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.
