SUV strikes, kills Johnny Ray Johnston, 62, on Alpine St in NE Longview
LONGVIEW, TX – A 62-year-old sustained fatal injures last Monday when a vehicle struck him along a major roadway in Longview, reports KETK.
The accident happened around 7:50 p.m. on Alpine Road, or FM 2208, between US-80 and US-259. This is on the northeast side of the city.
Police say that the victim, identified as Johnny Ray Johnston, walked onto Alpine Road without looking both ways and entered the path of a southbound Ford SUV.
Medics transported Johnston to the hospital where he later died.
Authorities have not specified whether the driver stopped to render aid, but they have not classified the accident as a hit-and-run.
