About Jeff Benton, Founding Attorney
Jeff Benton (TX Bar No. 24050283, admitted 2005) founded Benton Accident & Injury Lawyers in 2012 to fight for individuals harmed by the wrongdoing of others. He earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, where he served on the Houston Law Review.
Following graduation, Jeff clerked for the Honorable Andrew S. Hanen in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas; this federal judicial experience gave him an inside understanding of how courts evaluate evidence and argument. Before founding his firm, he practiced at Locke Lord LLP, an international law firm with more than 700 attorneys, where he handled complex civil appellate matters.
Jeff is a member of the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the Dallas Bar Association. In 2013, he was honored with the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association’s John Howie Award for the courageous pursuit of justice in the face of adversity. In 2018, he was named one of D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas.
He has served as an adjunct professor of business law at The University of Texas at Brownsville and as an Assistant Editor of the State Bar Litigation Section Report.
